Diego Garcia is exclusively a military reservation, used mostly as a stationary aircraft carrier by the Navy and the Air Force. It is located on a small host country atoll in the Chagos Archipelago.

Diego Garcia is a narrow tropical jungle reef in the Indian Ocean, about 1,000 miles south of the southern India coast. A British territory mostly populated by the US military, the island is home to 1,700 military personnel (50 are British), and 1,500 civilian contractors.


First Support Services is an LLC partner with WS Akins and DS2 providing:

• Aircraft GSE and ground support maintenance.
• Antenna maintenance.
• Communications systems including computer and radar systems.
• Port and harbor operations and management including ship overhauls, tugboat operation, and stevedore services.

• Subcontractor management.
• Transportation and fleet services.
• Operation and maintenance of Naval Communications Technical Services including message center service, technical control facility, automated information system/LAN, tactical support communications and SATCOM.
• Potable water.
• MILCON of electrical power distribution system.
• Food Services.
• Maintenance and operations of fuel systems.
• Crash and fire protection services.
• Morale, welfare, and recreation services.
• Air passenger and air cargo operations.
• Storage of Air Force war reserve material.
• Quality control.
• Logisitics, warehousing, shipping, and freight forwarding.
• Personnel support services (ships store, barber/beauticians, laundry, dry cleaner, tailor and literary).
• Administrative functions.
• Photographic services.
• Hazardous waste collection and disposal.
• Utilities systems and auxiliary systems including power plants, electric power production, and water and sewage systems.
