Little Rock Air Force Base opened in October 1955. The base consists of more than 6,000 acres and 12,000-foot runway. The base is in the city of Jacksonville, Arkansas, which provides many services to the base, such as civilian police and ambulance support.

This base is home to a large Airlift Wing, Task Force Rock, the world's C-130 Tactical Airlift      

Center of Excellence. The Wing is used to deliver supplies and soldiers to allied conflicts all  over the  globe.   The base is  the  only C-130 training institution in the Armed Forces. Task Force Rock's mission is to replenish, project, and sustain expeditionary C-130 combat power from home station or while deployed in the field.
First Support Services is a subcontractor to TRANS-TEL that provides:
All personnel, equipment, parts, materials, and services for operation and maintenance of Base Telephone System 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Performing operations and maintenance on the switching systems, transmission equipment, ancillary equipment, customer premise equipment, the inside cable plant and recurring services as specified by contract.
