Located near Los Angeles Airport, this base is the headquarters
for the Air Force's Space and Missile Systems Center,
a major military satellite development organization.
Los Angeles
AFB plays a major role in our nation's war on terrorism,
as the scientists and engineers of the
Base and the neighboring defense companies
oversee the development of the next generation of
ballistic missiles,

rockets, and
satellites being built by neigh- boring defense contractors.
The
Base has helped develop and procure state-of-the-art satellites
and technologies that include new and highly effective
Global Positioning Satellites, MILSTAR communi- cations
satellites, and improved weather and surveying satellites.

All personnel, equipment, parts, materials
and
services for operation and maintenance of Base Telephone System,
which includes Nortel SL 1XT
DCO Switching System and LAN/Data Systems 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. |

Provide technical improvements to the BTS, including
design, installation, engineering, site preparation, installation,
test, and cutover for existing and new
BTS systems/equipment. |

Site surveys/technical assistance and
implementation of new
systems/facilities,
upgrades, and modifications to BTS. |
